Â
Let’s take a trip back to China in the third century BCE, to the kingdom of an innovative emperor, Qin Shi Huang.
Â
Emperor Huang saw a need to protect his people from northern invaders, as well as to protect important trades routes. With that in mind, Emperor Huang wanted to close these gaps, creating a unified wall along the Chinese border.
