In this video series for kids, we are learning about dinosaurs from A to Z. Today’s dino is the Leptoceratops.

The Leptoceratops lived about 65 million years ago. Its fossils have been found in Alberta, Canada, and the Midwest in the United States. Seven different species of this dinosaur have been discovered. Even though it did not have horns, its name means "slim-horned face."

The Leptoceratops was a small dinosaur. It is described by paleontologists as "long, slender, and low to the ground." It was around 2 to 3 meters (6 to 9 feet) long and no more than 1 meter (3 feet) high at its shoulders. A fully grown Leptoceratops weighed 90 kilograms (200 pounds). By dinosaur standards, it was a nice-sized meal for predator dinosaurs like the Velociraptor or T-Rex!
