What do you like the most about living on planet Earth? It is not a secret that Mother Earth is pretty incredible. In this educational video for kids we are going to learn more about Earth Day!

Would it surprise you to learn that Earth Day began as a protest? Back in 1969, a Wisconsin senator named Gaylord Nelson wanted to help raise awareness about air and water pollution. He partnered with a young activist named Denis Hayes to organize events that would educate college students and the greater public about these climate issues.

On April 22, 1970, about 20 million people gathered in various places across the United States to protest against pollution and raise awareness about ways to protect the environment. To this day, Earth Day 1970 stands as the biggest secular, or non-religious, day of protest in the world. Since then, it has grown into a global phenomenon celebrated every year on April 22nd. Many people engage in environmental education and eco-friendly activities during this holiday.
