It’s that magical time of year when there’s a chill in the air and the leaves start to show off their colors. If you like sports, it is also time for those Friday night lights! Obviously, we are talking about autumn! Today, in this educational video for kids, we are going to share some fun fall facts that you can share with your family and friends.

Did you know that fall does not happen on a random day? It begins with the autumn equinox, which happens in the Northern Hemisphere between September 21st and September 24th, depending on the year.

Would you be surprised to learn that leaves don’t actually turn colors? The colors of leaves are actually covered up by chlorophyll during the spring and summer. When the daylight hours begin to shorten, trees stop making chlorophyll, allowing the hidden colors in leaves to finally take center stage.
