Did you know the Apollo space missions are the first and only missions to send humans to the moon? It’s true! Learn this and other interesting facts in this video for kids.

The Apollo space missions were a series of operations conducted by NASA with the goal of taking humans to the moon and bringing them home safely. These missions took place over the 1960s and early 1970s, and played a part in the “space race” between the United States and the Soviet Union.

Apollo 7 was the first successful mission in the program, and was launched in October 1968. Even though this particular mission did not travel to the moon, it played an essential part in testing the spacecraft that would later be used to land on the moon. The crew orbited the Earth, tested the craft’s systems, and practiced maneuvers in preparation for a future lunar landing.
