Cat in the Middle is a super simple yet exciting game, especially for young learners. Since it is a flashcard and cups game so easy to arrange the materials and set up the whole game. It is a circle game so easy to manage your students and practice whatever you are teaching.

Have them sit in a circle. place a cup on each flashcard in front of them.

The teacher as a cat in the middle of the circle tries to grab a cup.

In order to involve students, have them chant a question like;

What do you want to eat?

or

What do you want? what do you like? what do you see? what are you looking for? What do you want to be? etc...

The teacher says a structure and whoever is having that word, will quickly grab his cup from the flashcard, or else the (teacher) cat will grab it.

For safety purposes, you may let the local teacher or the well-disciplined / well-behaved or well-mature kids should be a cat in the middle only.
