Playing games in ESL class helps to improve interaction, increase energy levels and build confidence.

This game can be used to practice words or language structures.

How to Play?

You need to arrange mini cards or print out the pictures or words with multiple copies, and use them in different ways.

You can see how I use different variations which help students to practice words and sentences.

Step# 1 Listening and Speaking.

Scatter the cards on the floor, the teacher shouts out a word, 2 students compete to get the card and whoever gets back to the seat is the winner.

The teacher then asks questions (whatever you teaching)

Muxi: Where is the rabbit?

Student: Her it is.

Step# 2 Group Practice Questions

The local teacher calls out a word, let's say CAT

The students' calp and shout "Where is the cat?

Muxi Teacher will find the cat ( card) and put it on the table, and say "Here it is" (Just want the kids to practice the questions)

Step# 3 Individual Questions

Same process as step # 2 but have the students randomly and freely ask questions. You will see it will sound so natural when they keep shouting and asking questions. ( Don't worry about the noise)

Step # 4 Practice Answers

Distribute the cards randomly, each student can get 2/3 cards.

The teacher asks: Where is the rabbit?

Whoever is holding the rabbit card, quickly stands up and places the cards on the chair/table says" her is the rabbit" and gets back to the seat.
