Greek mythology is full of unique characters with fascinating stories. This video tells the story of the hero Heracles, when he is tasked with defeating the fearsome Hydra as part of his Twelve Labors. The Hydra, a nine-headed serpent living in the swamps of Lerna, grows two heads for every one that is cut off, making it nearly impossible to kill. With the help of his clever nephew Iolaus, who uses a torch to cauterize the necks and prevent regrowth, Heracles manages to destroy the beast—finally burying its immortal head under a rock. Their victory brings safety to the land and demonstrates that strength paired with strategy can overcome even the greatest of monsters.
