I Gave Away $2,700,000 of Free Clothes
In this inspiring video, we learn about the urgent issue of clothing waste, with over 92 million tons of clothes thrown away each year! That's enough to fill 563 football stadiums! Instead of letting all this clothing go to waste, our team decided to make a difference by donating it to those in need. We were thrilled to team up with Champion and Bridgewater, who generously contributed over $2.7 million worth of clothing.
Our journey took us to the Hopi reservation in northern Arizona, where we met Wendy, a passionate leader striving to improve the lives of her community. The Hopi people, known as the 'Peaceful People,' face harsh winters without easy access to warm clothing or food. With over 10,000 members in the tribe, many have to travel long distances just to find basic supplies. We were moved by their generosity and resilience.
Upon arriving, we were overwhelmed by the amount of clothing we had to distribute, and the excitement from the community was contagious! The joy on the faces of the Hopi people as they received new clothes was heartwarming. We also discovered that many families struggle with food insecurity. To help, we brought in 13 tons of food, providing 25,000 nutritious meals to support their needs.
After our impactful trip to Arizona, we continued our mission by heading to Detroit and India to distribute even more clothing. Thanks to our sponsors and supportive organizations, we were able to reach tens of thousands of people in need. This video showcases the power of kindness and community, reminding us that we can all make a difference, one act of generosity at a time!
