We Built A Town

In a remote town deep in the jungle of Guatemala, many families struggle to survive as they face extreme tropical storms that destroy their homes. The community, which includes a father named Alberto and his large family, lives in very basic conditions with dirt floors and no electricity. To help improve their lives, a team of volunteers, led by Darren, teamed up with the organization TECHO to build 15 new homes equipped with solar panels, sanitation systems, and rainwater harvesting. Over just four days, these dedicated volunteers faced tough challenges, carrying building materials through the jungle to construct safe, sturdy houses for the community.

After hard work and determination, the team successfully completed the homes just in time to surprise Alberto and his family. The joy and excitement on the faces of the families were priceless as they celebrated their new, safe living spaces. With better homes, the families can now spend more time focusing on their futures instead of constantly rebuilding. The project also includes a community center that will provide additional classrooms and training opportunities for the villagers, helping them learn new skills and create job opportunities. This heartwarming journey showcases the power of teamwork and kindness, making a lasting impact on the lives of those who need it most.
