When we need to divide a number by 10, 100 or 1000, instead of using traditional division, which can take more time, we can use a very simple trick. We just need to remove zeros from the original number.

To divide by 10, we remove a zero at the end of the number, since 10 has only one zero. For example, if we divide 40 by 10, we simply remove a zero from 40, getting 4.

To divide by 100, we remove two zeros.

To divide by 1000, we remove three zeros.
