When we need to multiply a number by 10, 100 or 1000, instead of using traditional multiplication, which can take more time, we can use a very simple trick. We just need to add zeros to the original number:

To multiply by 10, we add one zero to the end of the number, since 10 has only one zero. For example, if we multiply 3 by 10, we simply add a zero to 3 and get 30.

To multiply by 100, we add two zeros.

To multiply by 1000, we add three zeros.
