Did you know that there is a special branch of the US Armed Forces dedicated to space? It’s called the Space Force! In this video about potential careers, we talk to kids about what it takes to be a member of the Space Force.  

The US Space Force was established in December of 2019, and is the newest branch of the Armed Forces. It was created to protect valuable assets like weather and communication satellites, to carry out space missions, and to ensure the safety of space-related technology. Systems like GPS, satellite communications, and national security systems are all essential services that the Space Force protects from foreign entities.

Members of the Space Force are called guardians. Guardians work full time and spend months in training and on missions. They often work with scientists, engineers, and other experts to conduct space operations, monitor space assets, and conduct research. They train to stay physically fit, and are always up for a challenge! If you enjoy variety and exploring the unknown, being a guardian might be out of this world!
