How to draw a House Sparrow bird for beginners. Pencil drawing and shading, step by step using a regular HB graphite pencil. I first lightly sketch out a rectangle and a vertical line through the center. With the basic guide lines in place we're now ready to map out the general shape of the Sparrow.
Once I'm happy with the general layout I begin to add details and apply shading with the outside of the pencil. I block in darkest tones, mid tones and lightest tones but I gradually build up the mid and dark tones throughout the drawing process.
