How to draw a Hawaii Ulua fish for beginners. Pencil drawing and shading, step by step using a regular HB graphite pencil. I first lightly sketch out a rectangle and draw vertical lines throughout the rectangle for guides. With the guide lines in place we're now ready to draw the Ulua fish.

Once I'm happy with the general layout I begin to add details and apply shading with the outside of the pencil. I block in darkest tones, mid tones and lightest tones but I gradually build up the mid and dark tones throughout the drawing process.
