Educational video for children to learn what a conflict is and how to manage it. A conflict occurs when two or more people with different interests or ways of thinking confront each other creating a disagreement between them. Conflicts are part of our daily life and there are different ways to deal with them. Each way has a different communication style: the aggressive style, the passive style, the passive-aggressive style and the assertive style.
The aggressive style occurs when we express ideas in a disrespectful way, with shouting or yelling. The passive style is characterized by the absence of communication, we do not express ourselves or we remain silent for fear of the possible consequences and βwhat will they say.β The passive-aggressive style occurs when we do not verbalize what we think or feel, but we express it in a less direct way, for example, through our actions, looks, and even changing the tone with which we respond. Finally, the assertive style consists of expressing our ideas while respecting those of others. We give our opinion, but always considering others, and we negotiate to reach agreements where everyone wins.
This video is a very useful and interesting resource for children. It is perfect to teach what a conflict is and to start working on assertive communication. It is an excellent video for primary and early childhood education.
