The person who writes and sends the letter is the sender, and the one who receives it is the recipient. Letters are usually written in a formal tone, although depending on who the letter is addressed to, this may vary. The parts of a letter are the date and place, the greeting, the body, the closing and the signature.

First, we always find the place and date where the letter was written. This information is written in the upper right hand corner. The greeting is the part of the letter that indicates to whom the letter is addressed. The body of the letter is the most important part, since it contains the message that the sender wants to send to the addressee. It is where everything that the sender wants to communicate is. With the closing and the signature, the letter finishes. Letters are still very important today. They help people to communicate and send relevant information, especially in places where there is no easy access to the Internet.
