Do you remember playing with Newton’s Cradle as a child? Now you can relive the memory by making your own and letting your child play with it. These pendulum ball swings are always so fascinating, and this craft is a fantastic way to share the memory while learning too! Known as Newton’s Cradle, this could also turn into a scientific experiment as you look more into how the laws of motion and force make it swing!
⭕ Materials:
- Paper
- Ruler
- Pencils
- Cardboard
- Hot glue gun and glue
- Wooden skewers or chopsticks
- String
- Marbles
⭕ Instructions:
(1) First, use the paper to draw out the shapes. Then cut them out and use them as a template to cut out doubles in the cardboard.
(2) Next, glue each piece together to make the stand.
(3) Place that to one side, then make four equal lines on the wooden skewers.
(4) Then, glue each piece of string to a marble.
(5) Glue one side of the string to the mark on each wooden skewer. Repeat until all marbles are glued on.
(6) Finally, glue each wooden skewer to the top of the stand. When secure, pull back one marble, let go and watch what happens!
