Driving skid steer to move dirt and regrade backyard landscaping. In this episode we drive a skid steer (also called a compact track loader) with mom to move 20 yards of soil into our backyard. It’s a long needed landscaping project! Then we do some manual grading and play along at home with Bruder construction toys.

We’ve been slowly changing our back yard landscape, and have been wanting to smooth a steep transitition. Luckily a we were given a large load of dirt in a dump truck, but we need to move it. We get in a skid steer with mom to efficiently move the pile into our back yard. We cover how the joysticks and other controls are used to manipulate the construction truck. After moving the dirt, we refuel the skid steer with diesel, and then clean it before returning it. Then we seperate stones and roots from the soil and gently grade the dirt with shovels and tampers. Next up, we play along at home with Bruder construction toys and tell the history of our backyard slope. We use a Bruder skid steer, wheelbarrow and lawnmower, as well as a Tonka dump truck.

While we play our games and drive our vehicles, we learn about engineering, science, STEM, and how things work in our educational segment.
