How to draw a 3D paw print, step by step using a regular HB graphite pencil. Cool trick art optical illusion drawing on line paper. I first lightly sketch out the paw print and then with a ruler and a blue biro I draw horizontal lines throughout the page.

With the outside and tip of the pencil I begin to apply shading to the drawing. I block in darkest tones, mid tones and lightest tones but I gradually build up the mid and dark tones throughout the drawing process.
