How to draw a 3D heart checkerboard. Cool trick art optical illusion on 110lb cardstock. I first lightly sketch out guide lines for the heart and then draw horizontal and vertical lines for the checkered board. Once I'm happy with the general layout I trace over the image with a fine line pen.
With a Sharpie I fill in the checker board and with a HB pencil I apply shading and use a prismacolor white coloring pencil for the highlights in the center of the heart.
