Educational video for children that talks about food chains. A food chain is a process that shows how living things are connected by what they eat. We have learned about classifying aquatic and terrestrial food chains but there is another way to classify them. On the one hand, we have green food chains, also called predator food chains or grazing food chains. The first link is a producer that is alive and usually manufactures its own food through photosynthesis. That's where the name ""green food chain"" comes from because they are alive, so these producers are usually green, like grass or any other plant. On the other hand, we have detritus, or brown, food chains. They are called this because they do not start with living plants, but rather dead things. We call the remains of dead plants such as leaves, branches and even roots detritus, or dead stuff, and they form the first level in a brown food chain. Brown food chains are extremely important for sustaining the Earth's ecosystems. In fact, 90% of the food chains on Earth are brown.

This video is a very useful and interesting resource for children. It is perfect for teaching about green and brown food chains. It is an excellent video for primary education.
