There are two brands we love to use, Pentel and Cray-Pas. Both work great and are about the same price. Oil pastels are different than regular chalk pastels. They use an oil binder to keep the pigments together. So, they act less like chalk and more like crayons. Crayons use a wax binder to keep the pigments together which means oil pastels are much softer and blend better!
