Join us on an adventurous journey as we tackle multi-step word problems through fun songs and engaging stories! In our first scenario, we hop on a bike to ride 200 miles. After a thrilling first day of 44 miles and an epic second day of 80 more, we face a little challenge when our notes get erased. But don’t worry! We’ll add our miles together and figure out how far we still have to go. With just a bit of math, we discover we’ve biked a total of 124 miles, leaving us with 76 miles to conquer.
Next up, we’re on the basketball court with Big Paul, a towering player who scores a lot! We’ll calculate his points by multiplying the shots he made by their values. With 16 points from his two-point shots and 15 points from his three-pointers, we find that Big Paul scored a total of 31 points. But wait, even though he’s tall, we see that I scored 40 points, proving that determination matters more than height!
Finally, our camping trip takes us to a log challenge where we start with 49 logs. After burning some in the campfire, we need to figure out how to evenly divide the remaining logs into five piles. With a little subtraction and division, we find each pile has 9 logs!
Throughout the video, we learn that multi-step problems can be fun and manageable. With each step we take, we gain confidence in solving math challenges, proving that with a little patience and care, we can find the answers we seek!
