The story tells how important it is to listen to the elders. Alyonushka and her brother Ivanushka went to the forest disobeying the parents. The children met the magical stove and the talking apple tree. The stove fed the children some cakes. Ivanushka was thirsty and Alyonushka went to the milk river with jelly shores to quench her brothers thirst. But Ivanushka did not wait for his sister to come back and drank from the puddle. Suddenly he turned into a little goat. The flying flock of swan geese kidnapped Ivanushka, but he managed to escape. Than Ivanushka found his sister and they got out of the forest. Ivanushka has had a long healing process before he could return back to his human look again.
