It's the number 1! One is a special number. It is the very first number we say when we are counting.

We can show one as a number like this.

How else can we show one? We can spell the word one with letters.

o… n… e… one!

This is how you sign the number one.

Look at this 10 frame.

Let's add counters until we have one. Remember to go from left to right, top to bottom, and don't skip any squares. One!

There! We've shown the number 1 in our 10 frame. Now, let's take this counter out of our 10 Frame. We didn't add or take away any counters, so we should still have 1. One!
