Easy 3D optical illusion spiral drawing pattern. Freehand line art with a Sharpie marker pen on 110lb cardstock. I first draw out a border creating a rectangle and then split it into 4 by drawing a horizontal and vertical line through the center. I then proceed by splitting it into 8 shapes by drawing four diagonal lines.

With a HB graphite pencil I apply dark to light shading inside each of the 4 outside shapes. This enhances the impression of a 3D optical illusion and makes it look like a large hole or four holes with a cool spiral pattern on top.
