Very easy 3D optical illusion for beginners. Freehand line drawing pattern with a Sharpie marker pen on 110lb cardstock. I first draw out a border creating a rectangle.

With a HB graphite pencil I apply dark to light shading inside the center. This enhances the impression of a 3D optical illusion and makes it look like a large hole.
