Make your own plastic bottle Fountain that almost never stops. The best kinds of projects are ones that don’t require lots of expensive materials. In fact, using recycled resources is so much better. Not just for the environment but also for imagination too!
⭕ Materials:
- Empty water bottles x3
- Soldering iron
- Hot glue gun
- Straws
- Pen or marker
- Scissors
- Bottle caps
- Coloured water (water and food colouring)
⭕ Instructions:
(1) With your first water bottle, carefully use a soldering iron to make 2 holes on either end.
(2) Thread one straw through the hole and secure it with the hot glue gun. Repeat with the second straw, making sure not to push it all the way into the bottle.
(3) Take your second bottle and use the pen to mark where to cut. Use a soldering iron to make identical holes on both sides of the bottle.
(4) Next, make another small hole on one side.
(5) Cut the second straw and thread the second bottle onto both straws.
(6) Then, take a third straw and thread it through the third hole.
(7) With the last bottle, cut it about a quarter of the way down, then use a soldering iron to make 2 holes in the bottle cap.
(8) Thread this onto the straws and secure it with the hot glue gun.
(9) Next, cut one of the straws to become shorter and screw the remainder of the bottle back onto the cap.
(10) Now, glue two bottle caps onto the bottom to make a stand.
(11) When complete, pour some coloured water into the top and watch what happens. What if you turn it upside down?
