We collected mud and water samples from a local pond, sealed it up completely airtight, and left it in a semi-dark room for 18 days. The results were absolutely mind-blowing!

From scurrying seed shrimp (ostracods) to camouflaged bloodworms, a lung-breathing freshwater snail, and tiny microscopic ciliate trees—this tank has a complete living food web.
