A man was hung upside down in King Akbar's court and was being whipped. He cried for mercy and begged to be released. Hearing his cry, Birbal came forth and questioned the king of the man's misdemeanour. The King went on to explain that Sagar- the man, was considered a bad omen to anyone who set eyes upon him. To check the claims for himself, the king had invited him over to the palace the previous night and begun his next day after setting eyes on Sagar first. The king claimed to have had a rather horrible day and not had any peace. And concluded that he be whiplashed a thousand times, following which he would be beheaded. Did he lose his head?
