Wednesday Wendy, a new student who loves spiders, as she navigates her first day at a new school. Wednesday Wendy's classmates, Eric and Kaden, are initially scared of her and her spider-themed belongings. Despite this, Wednesday Wendy remains kind and tries to make friends, offering her crayons to Eric and wanting to play together.
Unfortunately, Wednesday Wendy finds herself alone during lunch and at the playground, making her feel isolated. Meanwhile, Eric and Kaden learn an important lesson from Aunty Beth about not judging others by their appearance and giving everyone a chance.
The story takes a turn when Uncle Jim and Wednesday Wendy bake a cake for their new neighbors, who turn out to be Eric and Kaden's family. Surprised but intrigued, the boys slowly start to see Wednesday Wendy in a new light, especially when she helps Eric with a band-aid. Through playing and spending time together, they realize that Wednesday Wendy is fun and awesome, leading to a happy ending where they all become friends.
