CHRIS GOT BIT BY A LION!! Chris got bit by a lion - That was the exact text I frantically sent my mom and sister from out of the country, hoping I had the reception to let them know and see what we should do. We went on a super fun Disney Cruise for Halloween this year. This was our first Disney cruise and it happened to fall in October when they were doing Halloween on the High Seas. We had so much fun experiencing Halloween fun at sea! Everything about the cruise was fantastic although in my opinion, the food was better on Princess and Carnival. Anyway, back to the lion bite. So we got on this bus to get into town and the guy on the bus was telling us about this amazing opportunity we could have where you could hold and feed baby lions. He acted like it was a sanctuary and he said how the baby lions would help hold their bottles of milk like human babies. It sounded so cute so we bought our tickets for the 45 minute drive out there. Once we got there, it wasn't at all as the guy described it. It was a restaurant with 3 small cages that held all kinds of exotic cats. Once inside the first cage, we found out there was no feeding of baby lions or tigers. The lion in there was a few months old and very feisty. The handler was holding the lion for Chris to take a picture as everyone did who went in the cage and as he finished the photo, the lion turned and bit Chris on the shoulder while clawing him on his back and opposite shoulder. It all happened so fast that I didn't even realize how crazy it was. MY KID WAS BITTEN BY A LION! In another country! After leaving the area and gathering my thoughts I started realizing that there could be bacteria in the bite, etc, etc and I started freaking out. I tried to text my family back in the US but my texts wouldn't go through. I put hand sanitizer all over the area and on his scratches and took him to the medical office on the ship right when we got back. Anyway, it was an experience we won't forget. When we got back home we took him to the doctor and she said he was looking good and because it wasn't a super deep bite we were lucky! She also said this was her first patient of her entire career that came in for a lion bite haha :) Anyway, the cruise was fantastic. The servers were absolutely fantastic and the shows were phnomenal! Disney has the best entertainment by far! Hope you enjoy watching our Halloween Cruise Special!
